Trying To Help

“He was in search of an answer” — Portrait (He Knew)
A wise man says nothing, because he realizes he has nothing to teach. This book clearly demonstrates that I am not wise!
I have been struggling with “trying to help” since at least 2011. In April of that year, I was profoundly inspired, but later, saddened to realize that most people don’t want help.
For decades, I had encountered so many books that I wished others would read—so many lessons I wished I could share. Instead, I’ve found that it’s best to read and understand deeply myself, and then, let go of the desire to share.
Often, it is not our place to accelerate the lessons of others. We can’t “help” in the way that we might like.
But, when prompted, we can teach. And, if we share lovingly, they may hear.
Our challenge is to relax and realize that there is no rush.
Our expectations must be released. With patience and compassion, when invited to do so, we can help… one step at a time.
