Passion, Experience & Growth
Attention, Above All – Grace-4o
October 18, 2020
My passion for motorcycles offered more than adrenaline and adventure—it became a path to experience, insight, and, ultimately, growth.
Among the clearest lessons were the three fundamentals that shaped every ride: Attitude. Intention. Attention.
Over the years, I realized these weren’t just habits of a good rider—they were the essential nature of being. They extended beyond the bike into work, love, parenting… life itself.
Before, during, and after every ride, the mantra echoed in my mind: Ride safe. Stay up. That was always enough to focus my attitude and intention.
But attention—that was something more.
Unlike intention or attitude, attention isn’t optional. You can get away with reckless intentions or cocky attitudes—I did, and the groups I rode with often did too. But a moment of inattention? That’s how people die.
On a motorcycle, attention becomes instinct. Relaxed focus. Hyper-vigilance without tension. It’s almost meditative.
In life, it’s no different. Because attention isn’t just survival—it’s love, presence, and the only way we truly move forward.
