Surfing The Waves Of Realty

Riffing on the thinking which started on August 3, 2017 in Las Vegas and San Diego, I concluded: “I’m not winging it anymore. Now, I’m surfing the waves of reality.”

A drive through Ashburn that November punctuated the idea with the visceral experience of affecting the world around me with “my wake.” I could feel that I was moving aggressively, and was ahead of where I was “supposed” to be—I was disrupting the flow of the world around me.

A few years later, Dune: Part One resonated with those experiences and ideas:

The mystery of life isn’t a problem to solve,

but a reality to experience.

A process that cannot be understood by stopping it.

We must move with the flow of the process.

We must join it.

We must flow with it.

Let go.

Let go.

Surfing reality isn’t about control—it’s about moving with the flow, embracing the momentum, and knowing when to ride the wave, or let go.
